Apple Notes Snapshot

Apple Notes Snapshot is an open-source, local-first backup control room for Apple Notes on macOS, exposing a read-only Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. It provides automation and scheduling of Apple Notes exports and exposes diagnostic and status data to AI assistants and coding agents via MCP, as well as a token-gated local web API. The platform targets individual Apple Notes users who need auditable, recoverable local backups and prefer a privately controlled workflow over cloud sync or hosted services. It integrates with Apple Notes via AppleScript, macOS (launchd for automation), and optionally with developer/agent tools compatible with MCP and Codex/Claude Code agents.
