FAOSTAT MCP

FAOSTAT MCP is an open-source MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes the full FAOSTAT API from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. It enables AI assistants (such as Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, and other MCP-compatible clients) to access, query, and analyze comprehensive food, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, nutrition, trade, and emissions statistics for 245 countries in natural language. Researchers, policy analysts, journalists, and developers can discover and retrieve domain-specific data, compare countries, access metadata, and perform bulk downloads without writing API calls, facilitating data-driven research and conversational access to global agricultural insights.
