GEMESYS

GEMESYS is a deep-tech startup and spin-off from Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, that designs fully analog AI chips inspired by the information-processing mechanisms of the human brain. Using memristor-based technology, the chip enables both AI training and inference directly on edge devices, achieving up to 20,000 times greater energy efficiency than conventional digital hardware. This paradigm shift eliminates the need to transmit data to cloud data centers, enabling on-device learning with drastically reduced power, data, and cost requirements. GEMESYS targets applications in smartphones, wearables, IoT sensors, industrial automation, autonomous systems, and healthcare devices.
