Lurk is an open source tool designed to fully expand and extract every comment and reply from Reddit threads, efficiently compressing the result into a highly compact format for LLMs or other downstream consumption. Unlike standard Reddit fetchers, Lurk grabs all comment tree levels (including deeply nested replies), strips out extraneous data, and reduces token usage by up to 94% compared to raw JSON, significantly decreasing context costs for AI models. It fits seamlessly into popular code editors via the MCP protocol (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and more), and supports optional Reddit OAuth to boost rate limits.
