Microsoft Scout is Microsoft's first Autopilot agent — an always-on personal AI agent built on OpenClaw open-source technology that operates autonomously across cloud, desktop, and web within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It connects to Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint, acting on users' behalf by handling coordination tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing materials, tracking deliverables, and surfacing risks, all while working continuously in the background without requiring constant prompting. Scout builds context over time through a system called Work IQ, learning a user's priorities and work patterns, and can launch specialized sub-agents for parallel tasks. It runs under its own governed Microsoft Entra identity with Microsoft Purview compliance controls, and is currently available as an experimental Frontier preview requiring Frontier enrollment, Intune policy configuration, and a GitHub Copilot Business or Enterprise license.
