Onecite

OneCite is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server and Python toolkit that allows AI assistants and clients to generate academic citations and bibliographies from a variety of input forms (DOIs, arXiv IDs, titles, URLs, ISBNs, plain text). It queries multiple scholarly APIs (CrossRef, arXiv, PubMed, Semantic Scholar, OpenAlex, Zenodo, Google Books, DataCite, dblp) to resolve and format references into BibTeX, APA, MLA, and other citation formats. Researchers, students, and academics can use OneCite for fast, automated reference conversion, enrichment, and formatting, integrating directly with code editors, AI assistants, or terminal workflows via the MCP protocol.
