Openalex Mcp Server is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes programmatic access to the OpenAlex academic research catalog (270M+ publications) for AI assistants and MCP-compatible clients. It provides tools for advanced entity search (across works, authors, institutions, topics, etc.), trend and distribution analysis, and robust name-to-ID resolution. With both HTTP and STDIO interfaces, it can be integrated into agent ecosystems like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf, enabling automated, AI-driven academic research, literature review, and bibliometric workflows for researchers, developers, and knowledge platforms.
