Openfigi

Openfigi is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and SDK for mapping financial security identifiers like ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, and Ticker symbols to FIGIs (Financial Instrument Global Identifiers) using the OpenFIGI API. It allows AI assistants (such as Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf) and MCP-compatible clients to programmatically resolve and convert batches of identifiers, auto-detect identifier types from CSV/text, and perform lookups in financial data workflows. Openfigi integrates with the OpenFIGI API and is particularly useful for finance professionals, fintech developers, AI assistants, and anyone needing to standardize or query financial instrument identifications.
