OpenHands (formerly OpenDevin) is an open-source, model-agnostic platform for AI software development agents that can autonomously perform real engineering work — writing code, running terminal commands, browsing the web, calling APIs, and submitting pull requests. Built by All Hands AI, it runs autonomous agents that plan, write, and apply changes across entire codebases end-to-end, rather than merely suggesting code snippets. It supports self-hosted deployment via Docker/Kubernetes or a managed cloud offering, and integrates natively with GitHub, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and Slack.
