PaperBanana is an open-source, community-driven tool for automating the creation of publication-quality academic diagrams and statistical plots from natural language descriptions or academic papers. Designed for AI scientists, researchers, and students, it features a multi-agent pipeline with iterative refinement, supporting various image generation models (OpenAI, Google Gemini, Atlas Cloud, Azure). It can be used via Python API, CLI, or a local web UI (Gradio-based), offers batch generation from manifests, and includes advanced features such as input optimization, feedback-driven refinement, PDF/context integration, and seamless IDE/CLI/MCP integration.
