pty-mcp is an open-source Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables AI agents to interact with real terminal sessions—including local shells, SSH connections, serial ports, and persistent remote sessions that survive disconnects. Designed for sysadmins and network engineers, it lets AI agents manage real-world servers and network devices beyond basic code generation—supporting operations like log monitoring, interactive commands, device management via serial/SSH, and long-running sessions. It also supports audit logging with redaction for sensitive data.
