Sophia - Hanson Robotics

Sophia is Hanson Robotics' iconic social humanoid robot, first unveiled in 2016 and designed to blend AI research with human interaction. She combines neural-network AI, natural language processing, and computer vision to recognize faces, understand emotions, and engage in lifelike dialogue. Built as a research and public-engagement platform, Sophia has appeared at the UN, global conferences, and talk shows, and is the first robot granted citizenship. The platform is extensible via the Hanson AI SDK and API for research, academic, and B2B applications.
