About Webear

Webear is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server designed for developers building web applications with audio features. It enables AI coding assistants like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf to capture, analyze, and describe live audio output from a running web app's AudioContext — bypassing physical microphones or audio files. Tools exposed include real-time audio capture, audio signal analysis (RMS, peak dB, spectral centroid, frequency bands), AI-powered descriptive summaries, and side-by-side audio diffing for debugging changes. The server integrates with Web Audio API-enabled web apps (supporting Tone.js, Three.js, and plain WebGL setups), Express-based dev servers, and the CodedSwitch analysis API (for advanced audio insights). It is cloud- and IDE-agnostic, and intended primarily for web audio developers, music app creators, and those debugging or optimizing browser-based audio pipelines.
