ZCode is a free agentic development environment (ADE) from Z.AI, the Beijing-based AI lab formerly known as Zhipu AI, purpose-built for its GLM-5.2 large language model. It bundles a file manager, terminal, Git panel, live browser preview, and AI agent chat into one native desktop interface for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Users describe goals in natural language and the agent autonomously plans, edits files, runs commands, and iterates until the objective is verified complete. It supports multi-model configurations (BYOK for Claude, GPT, DeepSeek, etc.), remote task control via WeChat, Feishu, or Telegram, and custom sub-agents defined as Markdown files.
