Fast Filesystem is a high-performance Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides secure filesystem access and AI-optimized code development tools for Claude and other AI assistants. It exposes 42+ specialized tools for file manipulation, directory management, code search, batch operations, and archive handling, with built-in auto-chunking and safety mechanisms. The server supports advanced editing modes including line-based, block-based, and regex search-and-replace, along with automatic backup creation and large file streaming. It can be deployed locally via stdio transport for Claude Desktop or remotely via Vercel serverless functions for HTTP-based access.
