Mcp Local Rag is a self-hosted, privacy-first MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that enables local semantic and keyword-boosted search across codebases and technical documentation. Designed for developers, it exposes ingest, query, and document management tools to AI assistants (including those using MCP, like Claude, Cursor, and Windsurf) as well as via CLI, facilitating retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows entirely offline. It integrates with local development environments and AI coding assistants, allowing users to ingest a variety of document types and query them with deep semantic and exact term matching—all with zero data ever leaving the machine.
