Execute Daily Routines and Track Task Progress

0June 2026

Morning planning, midday check-in, and evening reflection integrated with weekly goals, project next-actions, and task tracking.

What problem does this solve?

Automates your daily routines (morning planning, midday check-ins, evening reflection) and surfaces context so you always know what supports which goal and project. A typical person jumps into the day with no context, then wonders at day's end what they actually accomplished or whether it mattered.

How does it work?

Run /daily each morning. It creates or opens today's note, surfaces your week's ONE Big Thing from the last weekly review, shows active project next-actions, and asks what your focus is. You time-block your day. In the evening, run /daily again and it shows you which goals and projects got attention today, flags any unlinked tasks, and prompts you for reflection. At day's end, commit changes with /push.

What's required to run this?

Daily notes are stored as YYYY-MM-DD.md files in Daily Notes/. The skill uses session tasks to show progress through morning, midday, and evening routines. Template variables support date arithmetic (e.g., {{date-1}} for yesterday).

Key Features

/daily

Create daily note, surface context (ONE Big Thing, active projects, monthly focus), and guide morning/evening routines.

Morning Routine

Automated context surfacing, incomplete task review, priority setting, time-blocking, and obstacle identification.

Midday Check-in

Quick progress review, energy assessment, afternoon priority reset, and time-block adjustments.

Evening Shutdown

Task completion marking, reflection prompts (wins, challenges, learnings, gratitude), next-day preview.
