Senior designers building prototypes and creating real product experiences need a way to leverage AI tools like Claude to accelerate design work while maintaining production-grade quality and distinctive aesthetics.

Start with a design problem or feature idea. Create an initial vision in Figma (or use Figma Make). Once the concept is locked, connect Claude Code to the Figma file using a URL that leverages Figma's MCP server to access design details. Use Claude Code to iterate on the design — multiple back-and-forth turns with the designer to refine and get the solution right. Once satisfied, use Claude to publish the changes directly to Git, either to a dedicated testing repository or to an existing project repository.

Significant time efficiencies throughout the product development cycle — tasks that previously took weeks now take days, and work that took months now takes weeks. Individual team members feel more empowered to make simple product changes independently, reducing dependencies and approval cycles. This increased autonomy builds confidence across the team and makes the design-to-code process feel more enjoyable and collaborative.

Design system integrations haven't been seamless. The primary challenge is Claude not consistently interpreting design tokens correctly. More broadly, there's a visibility gap — it's difficult to diagnose exactly what's going wrong when Claude diverges from the design spec or creates its own interpretation. Team members often can't pinpoint whether the issue stems from unclear design specifications, token misinterpretation, or Claude simply going rogue and ignoring constraints. This diagnostic difficulty makes it hard to course-correct and maintain design system fidelity across multiple team members.
