Product & Design Blueprint
Brainstorm and Shape Ideas Before Code
YC-style product interrogation and specification that forces thinking into a design doc.
What problem does this solve?
Turns vague product ideas into clear problem statements and explored alternatives. /office-hours asks six forcing questions to validate demand and uncover what you're actually building. /spec produces an executable backlog-ready specification. By writing the thinking down in a design doc that later stages can read, you avoid restarting cold at each step.
How does it work?
- Run
/office-hours(or/spec) on your idea. Respond to 3-6 forcing questions about the problem, users, and status quo. Claude challenges premises and surfaces hidden scope. 2. The skill generates a design doc (or spec) with problem statement, explored alternatives, and implementation approach. 3. Downstream skills (planning, engineering review, QA) read this doc so they have context instead of asking you to re-explain.

What's required to run this?
Both skills default to conversational (Startup and Builder modes in /office-hours, full draft pipeline in /spec). Design docs and specs save to ~/.gstack/projects/{slug}/ and are cross-referenced by /plan-ceo-review and /plan-eng-review for continuity. The spec command includes a Codex review gate (blocks below 7/10) and secret redaction before file write.
Key Features
/office-hours
YC-style brainstorm with six forcing questions that expose demand reality, widen scope possibilities, and identify the narrowest wedge to ship first.
/spec
Author backlog-ready specifications in five phases (why, scope, technical requirements, draft, file) with a Codex quality gate to block specs below 7/10.
Design Doc Output
Both skills produce a persisted design document that feeds into every downstream review stage so context never resets.
