Run General LinkedIn Automation

0May 2026

A CLI skill that executes LinkedIn operations via real browser: fetch profiles, search people and companies, send messages, manage connections, create posts, react, comment, and run custom workflows.

What problem does this solve?

Enables your AI agent to run individual LinkedIn operations without juggling platform limits or browser automation. It handles all the account switching, error classification (auth issues vs. rate limits vs. account restrictions), and JSON-structured output so your agent can chain operations and handle failures intelligently.

How does it work?

Once installed globally via npm and authenticated with Linked API tokens, your agent calls linkedin <command> with appropriate flags. Commands cover profiles (fetch with optional experience/education/skills/posts), people search (by name, position, location, industry, company), company fetch/search, messaging, connection management (send/check/withdraw/remove), posts (fetch/create/react/comment), statistics, and custom workflows. All commands support --json and --quiet output. Exit codes separate infrastructure failures from action failures: always parse the JSON success field. Output: structured JSON with requested data or error details.

What's required to run this?

Requires @linkedapi/linkedin-cli installed globally and Linked API tokens from app.linkedapi.io. Real browser operations take 30 seconds to several minutes. Operations queue sequentially per account. LinkedIn's rate limits apply per account. Sales Navigator commands require an active subscription. Exit code 0 does not guarantee action success; always check the JSON success field. Exit codes 4 (account issue) and 6 (rate limit) indicate infrastructure limits that may persist.

Key Features

Profile & Search

Fetch detailed profiles with optional history (work, education, skills, posts, comments, reactions). Search people and companies with multi-field filtering (location, industry, company, position, school).

Messaging & Connections

Send messages and InMails, retrieve conversation history, check connection status, send/withdraw requests with optional notes, list connections with filters, remove connections.

Content Management

Create posts with attachments (images, videos, documents), react to posts (6 reaction types), comment on posts, post on behalf of a company page.

Sales Navigator

Access Sales Navigator searches (hashed URLs), fetch people and companies with decision-maker and employee filters, run advanced searches with company sizing and revenue filters.

Custom Workflows

Execute multi-step workflows from JSON definitions (file, stdin, or inline), check workflow status, wait for completion. Supports action chains like open profile then send invite.
