Search X for Research From Your Terminal

Provides X API access as a fast CLI so your AI agent or terminal can search tweets, filter by engagement, monitor accounts, and fetch full conversations without calling X endpoints directly. This removes the need to switch to X's web interface or write API calls when you need recent perspectives and sourced research.

After installation, use bun run x-search.ts commands. Main commands: search "query" --sort likes --limit 10 for targeted searches with engagement sorting and noise filtering, profile username for recent tweets from a user, thread TWEET_ID for full conversations, watchlist check to monitor key accounts. The --quick flag reduces costs by limiting to 1 page, 1-hour cache, and auto-filtering retweets. Every search shows estimated API cost. Output: formatted tweets with engagement metrics, links, and author handles.

Requires Bun runtime because the skill uses native TypeScript execution (bun run x-search.ts). Requires X_BEARER_TOKEN environment variable (from X Developer Portal) and prepaid X API credits (pay-per-use, ~$0.50 per search page). Bearer token should not be passed inline in commands; set as environment variable or in ~/.config/env/global.env to reduce exposure risk in agent session logs.
